No matter how subtle the earliest signs of aging may be, the fact that they’re visible at all can be upsetting. Luckily, there are a few steps you can take to minimize their appearance, without rushing down to my practice for a full facelift. Here are the top three early signs of aging, and some tips on treating them.
1. Aging
Eyes. Whether showing up as crow’s feet or puffy bags and dark circles, the eyes are one of the first areas of the face to betray your age. Preventative skincare can help delay some of these, but more pronounced wrinkles may call for chemical peels or injectables. Eyelid surgery can rejuvenate the eye area, helping you look younger and more refreshed.
2. Laugh Lines
Also known as smile lines or parentheses lines, these occur when thenatural lines that run from your nose to the outside corners of your mouth (the nasolabial folds) become deeper and more pronounced. Injectable fillers can be used to rebuild lost volume and minimize the appearance of these laugh lines, helping your whole face look younger.
3. Facial Weight Changes
The weight distribution in your face changes with age. New fat deposits may appear in your cheeks and neck causing you to look puffy, or your cheeks may lose volume, giving you a gaunt and haggard appearance. Fillers can boost facial volume, while facial liposuction helps Detroit men and women regain a slimmer, more youthful appearance.
Of course, these aren’t the only changes that show up as you start to notice the years on your face, but they’re often the earliest to appear. With the right combination of preventative care and cosmetic surgery, you can fight the more advanced signs of aging for a long time.
