What is Lipo 360?
Lipo 360 is a unique liposuction procedure that contours and shapes the entire midsection region. As the name suggests, it sculpts all around the midsection, 360 degrees, giving you a completely uniform and toned appearance. The surgeon customized the treatment according to your unique goals to help you achieve a firm, toned, and sculpted look. This procedure is most commonly performed on the upper and lower abdominals, flanks, and back.
Lipo 360 vs. Traditional Liposuction
Traditional liposuction removes unwanted fat tissues from targeted areas on your body, such as the arms, thighs, flanks, etc. However, the lipo 360 procedure focuses on 360-degree, circumferential sculpting, targeting multiple areas around your abdomen. Instead of sculpting individual parts of your body, it sculpts your entire midsection, front and back. This helps you achieve more comprehensive and uniform results.
Candidates for Lipo 360
Lipo 360 is meant for patients who want to remove unwanted fat tissues that resist all-natural means of fat reduction, such as exercise and dieting. However, the patient should be close to their ideal body weight with a BMI of less than 30. That’s because lipo 360 is a body contouring procedure — not a weight loss procedure. The surgeon can remove small volumes of unwanted fat tissues to give you a sculpted appearance, but it’s not meant for overall weight loss.
You should also be in generally good physical and mental health, have realistic expectations from the procedure, and you should be a nonsmoker (or willing to stop smoking). The surgeon will also perform various medical tests to ensure you don’t have underlying medical conditions that preclude surgery. Your cosmetic surgeon will ensure you’re a suitable candidate for lipo 360 with no risk of major complications.
The Lipo 360 Procedure
Your lipo 360 procedure will start with a personal consultation with Dr. Berkowitz. He’ll carefully listen to your goals and concerns, review your medical history, and recommend the ideal treatment plan to sculpt your body. The surgeon will also mark the treatment areas on your body to guide the surgery and ensure optimal results.
The lipo 360 procedure is performed under local anesthesia with IV sedation. The surgeon will make an incision on the targeted area and insert a special cannula to loosen the unwanted fat tissues and suction them away from the body. In some cases, laser energy may be used to tighten the skin tissues, giving you a firm and sculpted look.
This procedure will accentuate and highlight your natural curves.
Recovering from Lipo 360
The recovery depends on numerous factors, such as the targeted areas, amount of fat tissues removed, and the size of cannulas used. Larger cannulas facilitate faster procedures, but they also cause more tissue damage, thereby necessitating a longer recovery. You’ll have to wear compression stockings for a few weeks to minimize post-treatment swelling and fluid retention.
Most patients can resume their normal activities and work a few days after the procedure. However, you should avoid strenuous workouts and exercises for several weeks, giving your body enough time to heal.
