What is Labiaplasty?
Labiaplasty is a cosmetic procedure that improves the overall appearance of the labia majora and labia minora, i.e., the outer and inner lips of the vulva. This procedure is especially popular amongst women with an overly large labia minora, making the inner lips extend out and beyond the outer lips. The labiaplasty procedure removes the excess tissues and tightens the labia to restore optimal aesthetic proportionality. Labiaplasty can be performed individually, but it’s often performed as a part of the vaginal rejuvenation procedure.
What is Vaginal Rejuvenation?
Vaginal rejuvenation, also known as female genital plastic surgery, is a collection of cosmetic and functional procedures on the female genitals. It usually involves a vaginoplasty to tighten the vaginal walls and a labiaplasty to improve the cosmetic appearance of the outer and inner labia. Vaginal rejuvenation improves the appearance of your vulva, makes you feel more comfortable, and increases sensitivity. This procedure is especially popular amongst women who want to restore their vaginal youthfulness, reversing the effects of age, childbirth, injuries, and weight fluctuations.

The Vaginal Rejuvenation Surgery in Detroit
The vaginal rejuvenation surgery is performed at our accredited and state-of-the-art surgical center in Detroit. The surgeon administers general or local anesthesia, depending on the surgical techniques used or your preference. During the vaginoplasty procedure, the surgeon removes excess skin tissues and tightens the walls of the vagina with sutures.
During the labiaplasty procedure, they remove excess labial tissues and create aesthetic contours around the labia majora and minor using absorbable sutures. The vaginal rejuvenation procedure may involve several other techniques, depending on your specific goals and treatment plan. However, you’ll be informed about every step of the procedure in advance.
Recovering from Vaginal Rejuvenation
Vaginal rejuvenation is an outpatient procedure — you can return home the same day to start the recovery process. The labia and vulva will feel sore and swollen for a few days, and you’ll be asked to take at least a week off work. You’ll have to take several antibiotics and pain medications to prevent infections and pain.
During the recovery period, you should wear loose-fitting clothes, take salt baths, avoid exercise, and abstain from tampons or sex. Most of the swelling will be resolved after 6 weeks, but you might have residual swelling for several months. You can resume exercises and sex after about 6 weeks.
