Junera is an FDA-cleared, dual-wavelength subdermal laser that lifts, sculpts, and defines facial and body tissue in a single in-office treatment. Bridging the gap between non-invasive devices and traditional cosmetic surgery for patients in Michigan.
What Is Junera and How Does It Work?
Junera is a dual-wavelength laser platform that remodels tissue from the inside out. A flexible fiber optic delivers 980nm and 1470nm energy directly to the subdermal plane, the structural layer where collagen forms and adipose tissue lives. Each wavelength targets a specific chromophore: 980nm focuses on fat and hemoglobin, while 1470nm engages intracellular water to drive collagen contraction and neocollagenesis.
This selective absorption is the foundation of selective photothermolysis, a principle first described by Drs. Anderson and Parrish in 1983. Energy reaches its target without scattering across the skin's surface, resulting in lower fluence, fewer side effects, and a single in-office session under local anesthesia. Junera received FDA 510(k) clearance for laser-assisted lipolysis and soft tissue coagulation in June 2023.
