Not Every Patient Needs Traditional Surgery to Look Refreshed

Accents Cosmetic Surgery & Medical Spa offers Ziplyft™ because it reflects our aesthetic care philosophy: thoughtful, precise, and centered around your experience. For the right candidate, Ziplyft™ allows us to deliver refined, natural-looking results with less disruption to your life.

Led by Dr. Mark Berkowitz, a board-certified, fellowship-trained oculofacial surgeon with over 30 years of experience, our approach blends surgical expertise with a deep understanding of facial anatomy and artistry. Every recommendation is guided by listening first, then aligning the right solution with your goals—not defaulting to a more invasive path.

What Is Ziplyft™?

Ziplyft™ is a minimally invasive upper eyelid lift that uses Compression Skin Contouring (CoCo) technology to remove excess eyelid skin without traditional surgery.

Instead of cutting and stitching like conventional blepharoplasty, Ziplyft™ works by:

  • Gently compressing the targeted eyelid tissue
  • Creating a temporary “tourniquet effect” that minimizes bleeding
  • Precisely removing excess skin
Sealing the area with medical adhesive—no sutures required

This technique allows for a faster, cleaner procedure with less trauma to surrounding tissue. According to Ziplyft™, CoCo technology enables bloodless excision and adhesive-only closure, resulting in reduced swelling, minimal bruising, and faster recovery.

Ziplyft™ is performed in-office under local anesthesia and typically takes about 10–15 minutes per eye, making it a streamlined alternative to traditional eyelid surgery.

Are You a Good Candidate for Ziplyft™?

Candidacy for Ziplyft™ is determined through a detailed evaluation of your eyelid anatomy. During your consultation, we assess:

  • Skin laxity and redundancy in the upper eyelid
  • Eyelid thickness and elasticity, which affect healing and closure
  • Brow position, since brow descent can mimic excess eyelid skin
  • Presence of fat prolapse, which may require a different or combined approach
  • Eyelid function and muscle strength, including screening for ptosis
  • Medical history, including medications such as blood thinners and healing considerations

Ziplyft™ is most appropriate for patients with isolated excess upper eyelid skin and good underlying structure. If there is significant fat bulging, muscle-related drooping, or more complex anatomical concerns, a traditional blepharoplasty or a combined approach may be recommended.

The goal is not to fit you into a procedure. It’s to understand your anatomy well enough to recommend what will deliver the safest, most natural, and most appropriate outcome.

What to Expect Before, During, and After

Consultation

During your initial visit, we’ll evaluate:

  • Eyelid skin quality and structure
  • Brow position and facial balance
  • Your goals, timeline, and comfort level

You’ll receive honest guidance on whether Ziplyft™ is appropriate or if another approach would better serve your outcome. Pricing is typically comparable to traditional eyelid surgery, but with fewer follow-ups and less downtime.

Procedure

The process is quick, controlled, and performed entirely in-office:

  1. Local anesthesia is applied to numb the area
  2. The CoCo device gently compresses the targeted eyelid skin
  3. Excess skin is precisely removed without bleeding
  4. The area is closed with medical adhesive—no stitches required

Recovery and Results

  • Immediately after: Mild swelling or pinkness.
  • 3–7 days: Most patients are socially presentable (“event-ready”).
  • 7–10 days: Final results begin to settle.
  • Long-term: Natural-looking improvement with minimal visible scarring. Because the incision is placed within the natural eyelid crease and no sutures are used, healing tends to be smooth and discreet.

Ziplyft™ FAQs

How is Ziplyft™ different from other “non-surgical” eyelid treatments?

Many non-surgical options, like lasers or injectables, improve skin quality but do not remove excess skin. Ziplyft™ is different because it physically removes redundant skin, just like surgery, but does so in a minimally invasive, sutureless way.

Will I need time off work after Ziplyft™?

Most patients can return to non-strenuous work within a few days. Because there are no sutures to manage or remove, recovery tends to be simpler and easier to plan around your schedule.

How long do Ziplyft™ results last?

Results are considered long-lasting for patients with “skin-only” aging concerns. While natural aging continues, the improvement achieved with skin removal is comparable in durability to traditional eyelid procedures.

Will my results look obvious or “done”?

The goal with Ziplyft™ is subtle refinement, not a dramatic change. Most patients look more rested and open, but not surgically altered. In many cases, others notice you look refreshed without knowing why.

What are the risks and side effects of Ziplyft™?

Ziplyft™ has a strong safety profile, but like any procedure, it carries some risk. Possible side effects may include: temporary swelling or redness, mild bruising, minor asymmetry during early healing, and rare wound healing issues. Because the technique avoids sutures, bleeding, and cautery, many of the risks associated with traditional surgery are reduced. A thorough consultation helps ensure the procedure is appropriate and safe for you.

Will there be any visible scarring?

The treatment area is placed within the natural eyelid crease, where it is well hidden. Because closure is done with adhesive rather than stitches, scarring is typically minimal and difficult to detect once healed.

Can I wear makeup after the procedure?

Most patients can resume makeup use once the skin has sufficiently healed, typically within about a week. We’ll give you specific guidance based on how your skin is progressing.

What happens if I need additional corrections later?

Ziplyft™ does not limit your future options. If further refinement is needed over time, you can still pursue additional treatments, including repeat Ziplyft™ or traditional eyelid surgery if appropriate.
