Quicklift is a revolutionary face lift procedure designed to tighten sagging skin in the lower face and neck. This is an outpatient procedure which provides quick, natural-looking results similar to those achieved with a traditional surgical lower facelift. Unlike a traditional facelift, however, there is less downtime and minimal risk of complications. Quicklift is ideal for men and women between the ages of 40 and 65 and older who are looking for a less invasive procedure to combat the aging process.

Dr. Berkowitz performs the Quicklift procedure in the on-site ambulatory surgical center at Accents Cosmetic Surgery and Medical Spa in Sterling Heights, Michigan a suburb near Detroit. The procedure takes a few hours to complete. During the surgery, Dr. Berkowitz is meticulous and  creates the incision along the sideburn area to ensure that the incision line is as inconspicuous as possible. The underlying connective tissue and facial musculature are gently lifted and tightened using a special purse-string suture technique. Excess skin is removed and the incision is carefully closed.

The results of the Quicklift are immediate and long lasting. Patients will notice an immediate tightening in the jawline and upper neck, resulting in a smoother, more youthful contour. Though patients may experience some discomfort in the early days after surgery, this is usually minor and easily countered with over the counter medication. Temporary bruising and swelling may also occur. Bruising can be camouflaged with makeup after three days and swelling can be kept to a minimum by applying cold compresses and keeping the head elevated. While recovery times will vary, many find this to be an ideal "weekend" procedure, allowing them to undergo surgery on Friday and return to the office on Monday or Tuesday sufficiently healed. As with all surgery, there are potential complications and these may include swelling, bleeding and visible scarring. You can minimize your risk of complications by selecting a qualified and trained board-certified surgeon, refraining from smoking, and carefully following your pre- and post-operative instructions.
