What is a natural facial?

The natural facial combines the restorative power of two treatment approaches – microdermabrasion and blood oil serum – to reveal luminous skin.

Blood oil serum is created from the serum portion of your blood – where platelets containing a high level of growth factors are found. When applied to the skin, these growth factors can:

Help your skin function optimally
Increase collagen
Boost elastin production
Promote antioxidant and hydrating properties

The procedure will involve performing microneedling to create hundreds of tiny, invisible wounds in the treatment area. In addition to promoting collagen production, this process allows the blood oil serum to deeply penetrate your skin.

What to expect at your appointment

Your natural facial will begin with Dr. Berkowitz drawing a small amount of blood and processing it in a centrifuge to separate the platelets for the procedure. He will then perform a gentle microneedling treatment before applying the blood oil serum directly to your face.

Recovery + Downtime

The natural facial is a non-surgical skin rejuvenation treatment experience. As such, there is no recovery period necessary and you will be free to return to work and your normal daily routine right away. To protect your skin after your facial, you should wear sunscreen and avoid makeup for the first few days.

You may experience some redness and tenderness (similar to a sunburn) in the treatment area for several days after your facial. Although these effects will diminish quickly, some of our clients prefer to stay home in the meantime.

Are you a candidate?

In general, the natural facial is safe for most men and women and can rejuvenate almost any skin type or color. However, it is not suitable for clients with certain medical conditions, including:

Bone cancer
Blood cancer
Anemia

Prior to and immediately following your procedure you will also need to stop taking prescription blood thinners and anti-inflammatory medications as they can increase your risk of certain complications.
