How does the Natural Facelift work?

The Natural Facelift targets two underlying mechanisms of facial aging: volume and collagen loss.

To restore youthful volume, hyaluronic acid is used to fill in flat and hollow areas around the eyes and cheeks. From there, blood serum is injected to stimulate the production of fresh collagen and elastin, encouraging your body to repair aging skin from the inside out.

The Natural Facelift: Your treatment experience

The Natural Facelift® at Dr. Berkowitz’s Detroit office is a 3-step, non-surgical facelift procedure that is designed to restore bright and firm skin. The entire treatment experience lasts about one hour and is extremely comfortable.

Step One: Hyaluronic acid (HA) injections

Your Natural Facelift will begin with Dr. Berkowitz injecting a Hyaluronic Acid (HA) filler to plump hollow areas due to age-related volume loss.

HA is a naturally-occurring material found in your skin. As long as these injections are administered with precision, you can rest assured that the outcome will look organic and subtle – never overdone.

Step Two: Blood processing

Once your HA filler has been injected, Dr. Berkowitz will harvest two teaspoons of blood from your skin and spin it in a centrifuge.

This will separate the platelets and allow them to release at least eight growth factors that would normally be used to heal injured tissue. The entire process takes about ten minutes.

Step Three: Blood serum injections

Dr. Berkowitz will then numb the treatment area and inject the processed growth factors directly into your face using a very fine needle. This will stimulate your body’s production of new skin, collagen and blood vessels.

Recovery: What to expect after your procedure

Many of our Detroit patients return to work and their normal daily routine immediately after their non-surgical facelift with Dr. Berkowitz.

However, you may experience some mild redness and swelling in the treatment area for about 48 hours. Due to these effects, some of our clients prefer to remain home until evidence of the procedure has subsided.

Visible, long-lasting results

Because the Natural Facelift harnesses your body’s natural restorative properties, the results take time to develop. In general, the facial skin will continue to renew up to three months after your procedure, at which point your full results will be apparent.

The effects of your Detroit Natural Facelift can endure up to a year, at which point you will require a maintenance visit. To prolong your results, it’s important to stay out of the sun, avoid smoking and follow a healthy diet.
