“It’s wonderful. I wanted to have more tightness in my skin around my cheek area and eyes. The procedure (Thermage) was really wonderful. The preparation was very good and Dr. Berkowitz is awesome at what he does. I have seen tremendous results. It was non-invasive-no cutting, no needles, no surgery, nothing. I liked the fact that I could just come in, get it done, and go home. It didn’t interfere with my daily routine.”

If you’re not ready for surgery, but you know you are ready for results, please consider this revolutionary treatment option now available in the comfort of our office.
Plan to attend an upcoming seminar to learn how Thermage can tighten loose skin – with virtually no downtime in just a single treatment.
Q - What is the Thermage procedure?
Thermage was the first FDA-approved, non-surgical procedure proven to tighten loose skin. Because there is no surgery involved, minimal downtime is required and you should return to normal activities within just a few hours after treatment.
Q – How long has Thermage been available?
Thermage first received FDA-approval in 2002 for treatment of wrinkles around the eyes. We have been treating patients, family and friends with Thermage since it was approved for full face treatment in mid-2004. Since then, Thermage is now used to treat the upper eyelids, tummy, thighs, upper arms and more! Treatment results are remarkable.
Q – How does Thermage work?
Thermage has a treatment hand-piece with a smooth, flat tip that touches the skin and delivers safe, radio-frequency energy (in the form of heat) deep into the skin. This causes the skin’s collagen to immediately tighten and allows new collagen to form its stimulation, which results in additional rightening over time.
Q – Is Thermage safe?
Thermage is remarkably safe. In fact, we have the most up-to-date equipment with the most safety features currently available. Side effects are rare and do not usually require any medical attention. However, when you meet Dr. Berkowitz or one of his Medical Aestheticians, they will discuss any risk associated with this procedure.
Q – How long does a Thermage treatment take?
Including time to prepare the skin for a full face and neck treatment, most patients can expect to be in our office for about 3 hours. The actual Thermage treatment is likely to take slightly more than an hour.
Q – How many treatments will you need?
Just a single treatment is usually enough to accomplish a nice effect. However, some patients may choose to have a second treatment – about 6 months after the first – for even greater tissue tightening. These are patients that were happy with the results of their first treatment and wanted even more of a change.
Q – Who performs Thermage?
Several staff members have received extensive training by Thermage’s manufacturer, and may perform the initial portion of your Thermage treatment. Dr. Berkowitz will develop your treatment plan based on your desired changes and may also perform the contouring passes in the areas where you wish to see greatest change.
Q – What kind of results can you expect and when will you notice a difference?
Soon after treatment, your skin can look smoother and more youthful as the tighter underlying collagen offers better support. Within 2 to 6 months, most people notice gradual results; however, many of our patients see results more quickly – though we choose not to over-promise. Whether you see changes immediately or slowly after within the following months, we guarantee (in writing) that you will be satisfied.
Q – How long will the results last?
Thermage causes an immediate tightening of the collagen structures deep within the skin. Optimal results are seen within 6 months following just a single treatment but studies show the results may last 18 months or longer. This depends to a great extent on each patient’s natural aging process, nutrition, lifestyle and avoidance of sun.
