Q – What is RESTYLANE and why would you want to use it?
Restylane is a cosmetic enhancing product used for wrinkle correction. It is a safe and natural dermal filler that restores volume and fullness to the skin to correct moderate to deep facial wrinkles, creases and folds.

It is the first and only filler made of non-animal based hyaluronic acid.

• Hyaluronic acid is a substance in the body used to provide volume and fullness to the skin.
  
• Restylane’s hyaluronic acid is in a crystal-clear gel that is entirely biocompatible with human hyalronic acid…meaning the body isn’t likely to have the risk of allergic reaction caused by other fillers.

Side effects are rare and few have been reported, including only temporary redness and mild swelling at the treatment site.From our experiences, swelling is common following lip augmentation but typically resolves on its own within 2-3 days.

Q – When will results be notice and how long will they last?
Immediately. When patients leave the office following treatment, changes are remarkable-deep facial creases are smoother and thin lips are plumper. Some swelling may occur during or right after treatment, but within just a few days you will see the true results-that tend to be long-lasting.

Q –Are Restylane and BOTOX®cosmetic the same?
No! Restylane adds volume to smooth facial wrinkles, creases and folds. Botox also smoothes wrinkles but works differently. Botox works remarkably well for the wrinkles caused by facial expressions. It helps relax the muscles that underly the “laugh” or “frown” lines to temporarily sofren the appearance of these wrinkles.

Restylane & Botox are often used togther, but consultation with Dr. Berkowitz will further clarify which product would better satisfy your rejuvenation goals.

Q – Are Restylane and collagen the same?
NO! Restylane and collagen are both dermal fillers-meaning they are both used for similar cosmetic corrections and produce similar results. However, Restylane does not require allergy testing (as collage does) and has longer lasting results.
