High cheekbones have long been a traditional sign of beauty.  Though not all women are born with this look, a surgical augmentation can create it.  Men also frequently seek cheek augmentation to correct flatness in the mid face. 

A SAFE PERMANENT PROCEDURE…

During this procedure a synthetic implant is placed over the natural cheekbone.  A small incision is made inside the mouth in the crease above the upper lip. A sterile implant, similar to the consistency of the natural cheekbone, is then placed over the natural cheekbone to increase its projection. The implant is secured and the incision is sutured closed.

After healing, the skin drapes smoothly over the implants - which conform to the bone and are usually undetectable.  The cheekbones can be expected to mimic the look of natural high cheekbones.

As is the case with chin augmentation, the operation is frequently combined with other cosmetic procedures such as nose surgery or facelift. Additionally, it is frequently combined with chin augmentation.

A LONG-LASTING ALTERNATIVE…

In addition to correction of deep facial creases, Dr. Berkowitz loves to enhance the cheeks with Radiesse.  He uses an innovative technique that tends to be quite comfortable for his patients and leaves no tell-tale signs of injection - like bruising!  By enhancing the cheeks, nasolabial creases appear softer and far less pronounced and the jaw line appears more defined.
