Q - What is BOTOX® COSMETIC?

Numbing is not necessary prior to BOTOX® Cosmetic treatments. In fact, most of our patients tolerate the quick treatment remarkably well, describing often just a quick, minor pinch.
After treatment, discomfort is rarely mentioned and patients are able to immediately resume all normal activities of daily life.
Q – How long does a BOTOX COSMETIC treatment take?
Treatment takes just minutes and requires no recovery time. Because we treat many patients every week, whenever Dr. Mark N. Berkowitz or his aesthetic nurse is available so is BOTOX® Cosmetic, unlike other providers that may only offer it one or two days per month.
Q – How long after having a BOTOX treatment will it take to see results?
Within days, many patients begin to notice results. Studies reveal that the great majority of patients judge the improvement by 30 days as moderate or better.
Q – Is BOTOX COSMETIC a permanent solution to wrinkle reduction?
Not really. BOTOX® Cosmetic is broken down by the body within 3-4 months. Once metabolized, the results also fade. Fortunately, maintenance treatments with BOTOX® Cosmetic can be performed safely several times each year, although BOTOX® Cosmetic will never permanently offer wrinkle reduction.
